The pre-kindergarten classes all traveled to Flat Rock a week ago for a visit to the Sky Top Orchard to check out the apples. They found out about the varieties, took wagon rides, picked some, and ate some.

Fifth grader Will Newman was interviewed yesterday by WLOS's John Le. Will is standing in front of his 26 award-winning photographs from the 2005 North Carolina Mountain State Fair. Among Will's awards are 13 blue ribbons, one judge's choice, and the best of show in the adult amateur division. The segment about Will aired last night and again this morning. Congratulations Will.

Middle school eighth-grade art students have been learning to draw in the style of Italian-born artist Amedeo Modigliani. Students take turns serving as models as the rest of the class turns out their masterpieces. Drop by the middle school art room and take a look at these creations.
