As always, it has been a busy week at Carolina Day.
Here's just a sampling of some of what you might have missed.

Last Friday was Fall Fitness Day for grades 2 - 5. Students were paired up with buddies of a different grade. They tested themselves on a variety of physical fitness skills and activities.

Students in the Lower School were asked to bring some canned goods to the gym on their way to Fall Fitness Day. These items would be used to help restock the shelves at Manna Food Bank. Our students and teachers did their part.

Character Education in action! Leo, an eighth grader, happened to be in the library with his class when the kindergarten was there. Leo announced that he was going to read a story and within seconds he had an attentive audience.

Students get recognized with a special banner in the Key School.
This week it is Ben's turn.

Earlier this week our Varsity Field Hockey team hosted Freedom High School of Morganton. The Wildcats brightened an otherwise overcast day with a well-deserved victory.

This morning two of the PK classes ventured across the field to brighten up morning meeting in the Upper School. Twenty-four brave pre-kindergartners (along with their teachers) led the entire upper school student body in an "echo" song where the oldest kids had to follow the words and motions of the youngest students. It provided some hilarious moments.

...and in the end, senior Mason Walters was called up on stage by his momma (PK teacher Cathy Walters) so that the entire upper school student body and those little guys could serenade him in a round of "Happy Birthday Cha Cha Cha" in honor of Mason's 18th birthday.
