As always, it has been a busy week at Carolina Day.
Here's just a sampling of some of what you might have missed.

Kids aren't the only ones having fun at Carolina Day. This Tuesday was our 14th Annual CDS Golf Tournament and it was held on a gorgeous day at the Grove Park Inn & Spa Golf Course. Twenty-three teams came together for a little competition, a lot of food, a bunch of prizes, and a great day of fun. Liz & John Kimberly were chairs of the tournament this year and they wish to thank everyone for their support. The tournament, which raises money for financial aid, was a huge success. Don't miss it next year!

Special thanks to our sponsors:

Zack Lemann is one of our new parents here from New Orleans. Zack is a professional "bug man" in New Orleans and serves as director of the Audubon Insectarium, part of the fabulous Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans. Zack has been offering his services to CDS as a bug educator while waiting for his return to New Orleans. He has been presenting a series of wonderful and educationally entertaining bug shows to various classes at CDS. On this day we found him in the pre-kindergarten. These kids were excited to get to see "and touch" such exciting things as huge African millipedes, hissing cockroaches, and even a tarantula. Zack and his wife have two children in our lower school.

Proud Mammas. Not to be outdone by all the excitement of the bugs, Jennifer Middlemas and Christy Tucker show off their latest addition to second grade. These "hairless" rats are their newest classroom pets.

And if it's fifth grade, it's Carolina Kids' News-the official newspaper of the Lower School. These four students are the editors of the first issue. It's in production now, so look for your copy soon.
