Quick Pix As always, it has been a busy week at Carolina Day. The Upper School Student Council's American Red Cross blood drive was held on Tuesday. It was a very successful event with 39 pints collected--surpassing the goal of 30. Fourteen CDS students donated blood and eleven first-time donors rolled up their sleeves for this good cause. Thanks to the students, parents, teachers and staff who gave. Juniors Matthew Clinton and Charlotte Hageman help check in donors.
Senior Landon Brown gives the thumb's up that all is okay.
Junior Gillian Knicely shows off her badge of courage after her donation.
These Key middle school students have started a "talents" class with a model-making theme. They are building model cars this week which combines reading comprehension, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and patience. Their cars should be finished today.
Seniors Annie Mallett, Katie Galloway, and Emily Tofil served as Halloween angels dishing up big bowlfuls of candy. This was an appreciated change of pace for the upper school students.
Are we having fun yet? Of course we are. It's turn for these middle school boys to clean up the cafeteria, a job that everyone in grades 1- 8 shares on a rotating basis. These guys are from one advisory group. Students in the lower, middle, and Key schools wipe tables, sweep the floor, and put things away every day.
And while the guys above are finishing up--their fellow middle school classmates are enjoying an after-lunch break on the field. What are these middle school students up to?
Why, grass skiing of course!
Don't worry moms. It's safe. And finally, these fourth grade girls are getting ready for a rousing PE activity using these scooters. The fun (and learning) never stops at Carolina Day.
