Those sixth graders are still busy studying cells. The latest assignment was to cook up an "edible cell" where they had to create a cell out of food. Their cells had to be both scientifically accurate and labeled. The students enjoyed the challenge, and for the most part, the results were yummy!

The Upper School Student Council hosted a lunch for our high school friends from New Orleans who have become an important part of our community. Pictured below are student council members and the New Orleans students who came to study and play with us for the past three months. We wish them well.

Melanie and Elyria are two of the upper school students we're saying goodbye to. A few New Orleans evacuees will be staying with us for the rest of the year. And who knows? Some may decide to make Asheville their permanent home.

Student Council President Adam Trufant presents a card to each of our departing students.
