Quick Pix As always, it has been a busy few days at Carolina Day. Last Friday was Cinco de Mayo (a day early) and the Lower School had their traditional celebration including an authentic Mariachi band from South of the Border. Okay, they drove up from Hendersonville, but that is south of the Buncombe County line.
The band invited students to join in with a big-group rendition of the Macarena.
Smaller groups performed the Mexican Hat Dance.
And these three girls got to be serenaded on their birthday.
A couple of weeks ago, the sixth-grade science class from The Key School, along with a couple of Key School seventh graders, visited the National Climatic Data Center Museum in downtown Asheville. The students got to experience the "magic planet" exhibit as well as prepare some weather balloons for launching. The group was guided by museum director Greg Hammer.

Each year, the seventh graders become friends with some of the residents at Givens Estate Retirement Center. They visit once a month to chat, share stories, and learn from each other. Then in May it's turn for our students to invite their new friends over to our campus for a picnic, lawn games, and even some musical entertainment. These photos were taken on Tuesday.
Parting Snaps...
Perhaps the gentleman on the left is Tony Blair just minutes before announcing to the world that he's stepping down in June.
