As always, it has been a busy few days at Carolina Day.
Here's just a sampling of some of what you might have missed.

Carolina Day upper school modern language students did very well at the competition held before spring break at Western Carolina University. Spanish students returned fresh from their experience to showcase their award-winning skit for their peers in the upper school auditorium.

The Iditarod is over but the excitement continues. The lower school students were challenged to read 1,049 books during the course of the race. This equals one book for each mile of the race.

The students gathered yesterday to find out just how well they had done. But first, they needed a little warming up.

And then lower school librarian Stephanie Howell joined Cathy Walters, our own Iditarod expert, to announce the results. CDS met and exceeded the challenge by reading 1,109 books. Incredible!

These models pose in front of only a handful of the book cards that were turned in and posted as each book was read. The entire hallway was covered with these cards.

The boys of summer.

Okay, maybe they're the boys of spring. These photos were taken at one of the first baseball games of the season. It's a young team with several middle school players filling out the varsity roster. And they all have a lot of heart.
