Quick Pix As always, it has been a busy few days at Carolina Day. The photos this week are from events The first grade enjoys a special Friday event each month. In December they celebrated Fiesta Friday!
Over 700 people attended the Holiday Breakfast. They didn't go away hungry. There was more than enough food and plenty of variety to make everyone happy. Make your plans for 2007!
Click for a slide show from the Holiday Breakfast. The Key School sixth graders presented their own costumed version of Twas the Night Before Christmas for a mesmerized audience of first through third graders. They had a hit on their hands.
Several upper school students started their holidays by participating in a Halo tournament. These were the last four bleary-eyed students to stay until the end. Halo is a video game.
The seventh graders took a couple of hours off from their routine to go bowling the week before the holiday break. It was a great way to use up some of that holiday energy.
These fifth graders had the awesome responsibility of counting up all of the "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" donations. They sorted all of the coins and bills which will be converted to a single check for mailing to UNICEF. The fifth graders also voted to donate a hefty sum from their pizza sales to go with the School's gift.
Sonja was making a collection of all of the unusual coins collected. They included foreign coins, plastic coins, and commemorative coins.
Click to read more about where the money goes. The sixth-grade Spanish classes recently presented a skit for a second-grade audience. They performed Ferdinando el Toro to the young audience. Of course, they presented the entire skit in Spanish. After the play, some students came up and drew pictures of various items for the second graders to guess using the Spanish word.
