Quick Pix As always, it has been a busy few days at Carolina Day. These moms, and plenty of others, would like to say thanks to everyone for buying out the store during the Key School's Holiday Bake Sale. And a special thanks to Lorri of Your Secret Kitchen for providing the fantastic cookies.
The SADD Club sponsored the annual "Mitten" Tree in the foyer of the Upper School. Many people from across the CDS community brought in mittens, scarves, socks, and other warm items to use as tree decorations. The contents were delivered to the "Hearts with Hands" organization in Asheville. Thanks to the many who participated.
The Key students decorated their lockers with their buddies. Here are the first- through third-grade team lockers and the fourth- and fifth-grade team lockers.
All four divisions presented holiday concerts on Tuesday. Click to see photos from the performances.
Upper School exams aren't exactly the students' idea of holiday cheer. Exams started this morning, and as students entered the building they were greeted by Blake Smith cheerfully providing water and a snack for their brains. It helps!
A walk through the upper school hallways twenty minutes before the first exam found the students squeaking in some last-minute review.
These students from the Key School first- through third-grade team presented their monthly book talks today. Tomorrow they will go on a special field trip as a reward for their reading. It's fun to see these kids get excited about their reading through these presentations.
