Quick Pix As always, it has been a busy few days at Carolina Day. It's ERB week for third through eighth graders. It's not exactly an exciting time for the students, but the halls are pretty quiet.
These second graders don't have to worry about ERBs yet. So, they're making good use of the "quiet signs" by practicing their limbo skills.
Here's some of the eighth graders practicing on the stage for the upcoming middle school spring concert. All middle school students will be participating in this entertaining program which will be presented this coming Tuesday night, April 17 beginning at 7 P.M. in the lower gym.
Those cute Bichon Frise puppies had the opportunity to travel to several of the lower school classes yesterday. Here they're visiting in Ms. Lanier's first-grade room.
One photo is worth a thousand words...
Bob Henson and several of his art students put the finishing touches on these beautiful Adirondack chairs. The two chairs make a set and will be an upper school auction item this Saturday evening.
The guy on the right was PE Player of the Day earlier this week. He's joined by some buddies.
And this guy on the right wanted to make sure the photographer noticed his missing teeth!
Students in middle school P.E. classes have been learning the fundamentals of lacrosse the past few weeks. These seventh graders were enjoying the experience.
A group of upper school students, spearheaded by senior Marley Burns, are having a bake sale TODAY in the lobby of the Upper School to support of the children in Darfur. There's still plenty of time to make it over to the Upper School and help the cause. Marley has set a goal to raise $500 through various projects.
Still walking and walking and walking...and sometimes running... Lower school students are still working hard to make it into the 100-Mile Club. You can find students (and teachers) walking around the fields just about any break or recess period. Those students who finish the 100 miles will receive recognition at the end of the school year.
Upper school students gathered on Tuesday to listen to speeches by the candidates hoping to secure top offices for next year's student government positions.
And in the end, Davis Graham was elected president and Austin Kieffer took vice presidential honors. They will assume their new roles in a couple of weeks.
It's almost that time of year and these seniors are practicing. It's called "senioritis." I guess you could say they deserve the chance to experience it because in just a few short months--they'll all be in college.
Parting snaps...
