2007-2008 Annual Fund

The 2007-2008 Annual Fund makes up more than 3.5% of Carolina Day School’s annual operating budget with a goal of $375,000. Your gift helps underwrite the cost of this extraordinary education from faculty salaries to book and technology acquisitions to arts and athletics, a beautifully maintained physical campus, and an active Alumni Office. As an alumnus/na of Carolina Day School, Asheville or one of its predecessor schools, you were given the opportunity to attend one of the premier institutions of Western North Carolina. Giving back to your School is a way to help today's students have the same educational opportunities others' gifts provided for you. Giving to Carolina Day School

Alumni gave over $60,000 in last year’s Annual Fund making up 14% of the total raised. Strong participation in the Annual Fund enhances the School’s success in soliciting corporations and charitable foundations for funding. However, alumni giving at our School is much less than at other similar schools. We need your support. Please consider a gift today to show your alma mater pride.

The level of Annual Fund support is a key indication of the Carolina Day School community’s concern for the long-term future of the school and a strong factor in a foundation’s decision whether or not to direct grants to us. The dreams we have for enhancing our school in the future begin with strong participation in the Annual Fund today.

Gifts of Cash

Carolina Day School accepts checks and credit cards (MasterCard or Visa).

Gifts of Stock

While most people make gifts of cash, Carolina Day School gratefully accepts gifts of securities. A gift of stocks or bonds is beneficial to you. You can receive a charitable deduction of the full fair-market value of the securities. Carolina Day School’s account is with Wachovia Securities. To make a stock transfer, you simply have to contact Molly Whatley at Wachovia Securities (828) 255-4920 or 800- 929-0973. Our DTC number is 0141 and the Carolina Day School account number is 2130-0672.

Corporate Matching Gift Programs

If you work for a company that matches charitable gifts, the impact of your Annual Fund contribution can be doubled or, in some cases, tripled. Investigate whether or not your company offers this program, fill out your company’s form, and return it with your contribution.

When can I give?

The Annual Fund is just that. . .an annual appeal for your support.  Donations are accepted at any time.  The campaign runs each year from July 1 until June 30.

As soon as your gift is sent to the School, it is processed and acknowledged. Your investment goes to work right away supporting the fundamental needs of educating a Carolina Day School student. By responding early to requests for support, you are stretching the value of your donation to the School by allocating resources to where it is most needed – our students!
