Dr. Charles R. Gershon

8th Year as a Trustee; Board Chair 2003-present; Co-Chair of Annual Fund for 2000-2001 – Chair, 2001-2002; Chair, Advancement Committee 2002-2003; Previously a urologist in Atlanta and currently a writer, published novel, The Hydrangea People ; second novel, Slow Funeral to be published late 2008, early 2009 ; BA from the University of Pennsylvania; MD from Emory University, magna cum laude, and Residency at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; Children – Alex (2007 CDS Graduate) and Katie (Grade 11 ); Community Service – Past President, Congregation Beth Ha Tephila; Advisory Board of BUILDERadius; Asheville Area Arts Council; Co-Chair, Anne Frank Exhibit, 2007, Rotary Club of Asheville .  Interests – Swimming, biking, hiking, reading, gardening, Alpine skiing.
